We repair, service and install air conditioning for homes, offices, shops and server rooms across the North East and Yorkshire.

Our engineers have worked on refrigeration and air conditioning for more than 30 years, and we're REFCOM registered for F-Gas work. That matters because most air conditioning faults involve the refrigerant, and only an F-Gas registered engineer is allowed to work on it.

Air conditioning repair

When air conditioning stops working, it usually shows one of a handful of symptoms. We repair all major makes, in homes and businesses. Common faults we fix:

  • Blowing warm air or not cooling enough
  • Not heating, on systems that heat as well as cool
  • Water dripping from the indoor unit
  • Ice on the pipes or the indoor coil
  • Error codes or flashing lights
  • Rattling, buzzing or unusual noises
  • Bad smells when it runs
  • Refrigerant leaks

Same-day response for emergencies. If your system has failed, we aim to get an engineer to you the same day. If a part needs ordering, we tell you when it will arrive and book the return visit with you.

Air conditioning servicing

Air conditioning should be serviced at least once a year, ideally before summer. A clean, well set up system cools better, costs less to run and breaks down less often. A service typically includes:

  • Cleaning or replacing the filters
  • Cleaning the indoor coil and outdoor unit
  • Checking refrigerant pressures for leaks
  • Clearing the condensate drain
  • Checking electrical connections and controls
  • Testing the air temperatures it produces

Systems that run hard, such as server room cooling or units in busy shops, may need servicing more often. We'll recommend a schedule that suits how yours is used.

Maintenance contracts for businesses

If your business depends on air conditioning, a maintenance contract keeps it on a schedule, so it isn't forgotten until it fails. Contracts are quoted for each site and can include:

  • Planned servicing visits around your opening hours
  • F-Gas leak checks and the records you need to keep
  • Repairs to keep your systems running
  • One contact for air conditioning, refrigeration and heat pumps

Air conditioning installation

We fit wall-mounted, ceiling cassette and ceiling-suspended air conditioning, for a single bedroom or home office up to a whole office floor. Every installation starts with a survey, so the system is sized for the room and where it can go.

  1. Survey We look at the rooms, how they're used and where the indoor and outdoor units can go.
  2. Quote We recommend a system and send a written quote that sets out what's included.
  3. Installation We fit the units, pipework and controls, keeping disruption to a minimum.
  4. Handover We test the system, show you how to use it and record the F-Gas details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer same-day air conditioning repair?

Yes, for emergencies. If your system has failed, we aim to get an engineer to you the same day. If a part needs ordering, we tell you when it will arrive and book the return visit with you.

Why is my air conditioning not cooling?

The most common causes are a blocked filter, a dirty outdoor unit, low refrigerant from a leak, or a fault with the fan or compressor. Check the filter and that nothing is blocking the outdoor unit. If it still isn't cooling, it needs an F-Gas registered engineer.

Why is my air conditioner leaking water?

Usually because the condensate drain is blocked, so water that should drain away overflows from the indoor unit. It can also be a sign the coil is freezing up. Clearing the drain is part of every service.

How often should air conditioning be serviced?

At least once a year, ideally before summer. Systems that run all year, such as server room cooling, may need servicing more often. Many manufacturers also expect regular servicing to keep the warranty valid.

Do you repair air conditioning in homes?

Yes. We repair, service and install air conditioning in homes as well as businesses, from a single bedroom unit to systems covering a whole building.

Do you repair all makes of air conditioning?

Yes. We repair and service all major makes of air conditioning, whoever installed them.

Do you install air conditioning?

Yes. We fit wall-mounted, ceiling cassette and ceiling-suspended systems. We survey the rooms first, then send a written quote that sets out what's included.

Does my air conditioning need F-Gas leak checks?

Larger systems, which are common in businesses, must have regular leak checks by an F-Gas registered engineer, and the results must be recorded. How often depends on the type and amount of refrigerant. We can tell you what your system needs and carry out the checks.
